A brief description of how and when the cultural assessment(s) were developed and/or adopted:

The SD Culture survey was put on hiatus during the covid-19 period. This was done to ease the numerical burden on the community and to allow time for everyone to get used to the new environment. The SD Culture survey that was previously used was revised to provide more interesting results. The team responsible for writing and distributing the survey worked with the SD team and the SD business lines to develop the new questions. These were written and selected based on priorities and current issues where data from the survey would be useful.

A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:

We consulted the student community. We distributed the survey by email to all individuals in the community surveyed. Individuals were given the option to respond to the survey or not. They had 14 days to submit their responses and comments.

Consultation period for the student community (undergraduate and graduate): March 23 to April 6, 2022. An email was sent on March 23 and a follow-up email on March 30.

Considering the Covid-19 period, the study of results over time has been suspended. With the 2022 survey, we are beginning a new comparative study. The survey will therefore be distributed to the entire community every year at similar times. The second mailing to have initial comparative results is scheduled for March 2023 to the student community and April 2023 for staff members.

A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:

Some interesting results from this first mailing.
- 56.31% of respondents are aware of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- 45.70% of the respondents in the graduate program are able to link their research project to one or more SDGs
- 36.66% of respondents are aware of the SD Fund at Univeristé Laval
- 39.83% of respondents are aware that Université Laval produces a GHG report every year
- 51% of respondents are informed about SD via the Université Laval sustainable development newsletter.

With the results of the consultations that will take place in 2023, we will be able to make a comparative analysis and evaluate the changes within our university community.
