Univert Laval is a student group that reaches out to students all across campus. Its goal is to raise awareness of environmental issues in the Université Laval community by:
- educating the community about the environment and eco-friendly behaviours,
- helping people get involved in environmental initiatives, and
- working with the university’s administration, schools, and faculties to help make campus greener.

There is also the Student Alliance for Sustainable Development student association which unifies the different faculty student associations to promote sustainable development. They set up various activities to sensitize the student community to SD issues and provide training to equip them.

There are a number of such initiatives on campus. For example, Agriteliers is a student comity that designs and runs workshops to promote agriculture and to familiarize children and young public with the agri-food activities of Quebec. Workshops are designed primarily for elementary school and preschool children.

Via Agro-Écologie, a student committee of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of Laval University, has the mission to promote ecology in agriculture. They have also set up various urban agriculture projects on campus, the products of which are given back to the student community.

Coop Roue-Libre encourages the use of sustainable transport. Its mission is to empower community members to maintain, repair, and use their bicycles as a means of transportation. The cooperative also aspires to be a model for utility biking in Québec. They also supply a shop to repair and maintain bikes that is available for all people (members and non-members). Workshops on mechanics are organized as well as conferences and activities for bikers.

The University's sustainable development team, in collaboration with the university community, organizes the screening of documentaries on the subject of sustainable development followed by a time of discussion and reflection. Université Laval also hosts various exhibitions related to sustainable development in different forms thanks to its two exhibition halls on campus. Club de plein air L’AVAL was founded in 1971 to bring together nature lovers and provide opportunities for them to canoe, hike, back country and cross country ski, telemark ski, bike, snowshoe, and participate in other special activities in the greater Québec City area. Mobilité Active ULaval.
The purpose of Mobilité Active ULaval is to create a practice community that will bring together members of the university community who actively commute in whole or in part, as well as those who actively pass through locations at our university. The group's priority goals are to:
- Demonstrate that active commuting is fun, easy, and popular;
- Create a forum for the exchange of information on active travel to facilitate its practice
- To serve as a communication channel between active travelers and university authorities
