ULaval has a bicycle sharing program since 2006. The fleet includes between 40 and 56 bikes depending on the year. This service is free for 3hrs or less, and at low cost for up to 3 days.

Université Laval has a partnership with the enterprise Communauto,and offers 11 spaces for Communauto vehicles for car sharing with reservation and with no reservation.

The main campus has 6 recharging stations with two chargers (level 2) each. Stations are accessible to students, employees, and visitors.

o Since September 2019, all full time students have access to the public transit U-Pass (universal pass = Laissez-passer universitaire). The fees of the pass is included in the academic fees at 50% of the regular price. This program has been created by the student associations in partnership with the university and the two local transit operators. https://www.ulaval.ca/etudiants-actuels/etudes/laissez-passer-universitaire
o Facilities for cyclists. We have more than 2,400 bicycle parking spots on campus, 184 secure bicycle storage, 20 shower facilities and 5 bike fixing stations. https://www.ssp.ulaval.ca/deplacements/cyclistes/infrastructures-cyclistes/
o ULaval offers a guaranteed return trip program to regular users of alternative modes of transportation. The aim of Université Laval’s Guaranteed Ride Home program is to reassure employees who use sustainable transport by giving them the option of using a taxi in the event of an urgent or unexpected situation so long as they have their employer’s permission to leave work. Taxi costs are reimbursed by the employer.
o ULaval offers a reduced price transit passes for commuters living on the south shore of the river. The local transit operators offer a program called L’abonne BUS. This program is offering a discount of 10% on the monthly bus pass. This program is only available via the employer.
o The last stretch of the bike path master plan was completed in summer 2020.
o Université Laval partnered with Ville de Québec to develop a four-season cycling network. The campus’s main bike paths and racks have been cleared of snow for the past two winters. o Université Laval rolled out temporary telework guidelines in 2021 allowing administrative staff to work remotely on certain days, which significantly reduces commuting. The Parking Division even created a special parking permit for employees who choose to work from home.
o A number of courses and programs are now offered virtually, limiting the need to travel to and from school.

An updated assessment was planned for 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 but have been put on hold by the pandemic. Even though we are reporting an older assessment, we believe the assessment methodology is still appropriate for responding to the reported fields.
