Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Creation of the UniC - International Student Network on Climate

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

The International Studen Network on Climate - UniC is a community of practice where university students from around the world converge to share, learn, collaborate and act together for the climate.

It was established by Université Laval in 2020 and now includes several partner universities around the world. More than 667 academics from 64 countries make up the network today. To join, individuals must be in graduate school, be of legal age and be fluent in English or French. There is no membership fee.

In order to propel the climate action of its members, the UniC network has four levers:
- A varied program of activities and workshops that allow members to enrich their skills and connect with partners and climate action experts around the world
- Calls for collective projects to support climate action initiatives of network members within their community
- A collaborative platform that allows members to develop their networks, participate in climate action discussions and access a reliable and diverse source of climate action information
- A bi-annual summit where public figures, climate action experts and network members converge. The 4-day summit offers participants conferences, workshops, competitions and networking activities.

The UniC Network is unique in its innovation in bringing together the next generation of climate action scientists and students to take concrete action in their communities. One of the network's objectives is to move towards a governance by its members, and therefore, students. It is a unique springboard for uniting student voices from around the world and creating an extraordinary mobilizing force.
