Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes

A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:

La Table du Pain is an extracurricular community and mutual aid project. It is run by members of the Université Laval student community in collaboration with the Société Saint-Vincent de Paul de Québec. Initiated by the Catholic student association of Université Laval, the project has since grown and its board of directors includes students from all backgrounds united in the fight against food insecurity.

Every Wednesday, bread, fruits and vegetables, canned goods and other foodstuffs are distributed free of charge to students in need.

In the fall 2022 semester, over 650 students used the Bread Table. To meet this demand, no less than 125 volunteers participated in the distribution activities.
Most of the foodstuffs came from Moisson Québec, a food bank in the Québec City area. In order to avoid food waste on campus, the Table du Pain also recovers uneaten food from campus initiatives such as the Marché Local ULaval.
