A brief description of the formal sustainability course designation program:

Université Laval has set up a recognition process for courses related to sustainable development. This process is based on a methodology developed by the Comité-conseil sur l'offre de formation en développement durable de l'Université Laval. It is now under the authority of the Groupe de travail enseignement et recherche en développement durable. The process is based on Arnim Wiek's theoretical framework for sustainable development pedagogy, which identifies five key competencies necessary for true training in the field.

Courses that meet this process are then identified with an SD logo in the various digital and paper documents that list the courses at Université Laval
