The mobile team in sustainable development and health receive training at the beginning of their employment/volunteer work. This three-hour training session provides an introduction to the basics of sustainable development at Université Laval. Considering that the students selected for this position must have basic knowledge of sustainable development, we consider it sufficient to inform them about the deployment of SD at Université Laval rather than what SD is.
The sustainable development and sustainable health team remain available throughout the mandate to answer more specific questions that may arise. Ad hoc training is provided if a particular issue or element requires further education.
The Mobile Team in Sustainable Development and Health is a group led by the SD team at Université Laval. It is composed of 21 students, some paid and some volunteers. The mandate of the mobile team is to:
- Ensure the quality of certain services offered on campus related to Mon équilibre ULaval;
- Inform the university community of initiatives, projects or practices in place related to health and sustainable development at the University that we wish to promote;
- Raise awareness within the university community about specific health and sustainability issues that individuals can influence;
- Facilitate action by community members by promoting sustainable practices and highlighting what is available to the community;
- Welcoming feedback, comments, questions and concerns from the university community so that they can be our eyes and ears on the ground to inform the health and sustainability team in order to improve our practices;
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the Boisé Bonenfant and the Espaces Bien-Être;
- Supporting the implementation of Mon Équilibre ULaval activities
- Audit, awareness and engagement in the Ensemble réduisons campaign and the Semaine Québécoise de Réduction des Déchets (SQRD);
- Participate in a food waste quantification exercise;
- Promote community participation in the ESSAIM project.
