Does the institution make training and professional development opportunities in sustainability available to all staff?:
Yes

A brief description of the sustainability trainings and professional development opportunities available to staff :

1. The Green Office Certification program is an audit process customized for Notre Dame offices and departments interested in becoming more sustainable workplaces. The Green Office Certification program is designed to recognize the efforts of faculty and staff. Upon completion of the audit, participating offices will receive a certificate and will be acknowledged on the Offices of Sustainability’s website for their positive efforts.

2. A Sustainable Office Practices workshop is available to interested departments. This workshop focuses on practical tools that save money, conserve energy, and create a more sustainable office environment, including:
•How to set computer and printing defaults to maximize efficiency
•How to cater an environmentally friendly lunch and save money
•How to create online forms that save time and reduce paper use
•How to use tele-conferencing software to reduce travel costs

3. The Office of Sustainability also provides a downloadable form “Five Ways to Create a Sustainable Office,” a “Green Guide to Sustainable Office Practices,” a "Green Travel Guide;" and a "Green Guide to Event Planning." Making sustainable choices for advertising material, food, and location can be difficult especially if there are a large amount of people attending an event, but we offer different ways to green those events. We also provide advice for both waste reduction and recycling at events on campus.
