A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contribute to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:

The University of Notre Dame has completed several major construction projects since our last reporting of STARS. An average of 96 % of the waste has been diverted from the landfill.
Stinson-Remick, a LEED Gold building, diverted 95% of the waste from construction.
Compton Family Ice Arena opened in October 2011 and is LEED Silver certified. 5,430 tons of construction waste was diverted from landfill on this project.
Carole Sander Hall, LEED Gold certified, diverted 97% of construction waste from landfill.
Stayer Center for Executive Education is LEED Silver certified and diverted 1,409 tons of waste from landfill during construction.
