Does the institution have a program to reduce residence hall move-in waste?:
Yes

A brief description of the program:

All campus departments who wish to advertise services can put a description of themselves and their website on a single card, which is distributed on move-in day. This change has saved over 30,000 sheets of paper and reduced Notre Dame’s carbon dioxide emissions by over 1,000 pounds per year.

Additionally, there are large recycling bins placed inside residence halls for recycling purposes. Each dorm has a console of 4-5 recycling bins on each floor for extra recycling.
