Has the institution assessed attitudes about diversity and equity on campus in a way that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

A brief description of the assessment(s):

The Office of Human Resources has created a survey called ND Voice for both full-time and part-time staff members. The assessments offer employees an opportunity to express their views on a variety of issues relating to the university and their responsibilities. All opinions in the questionnaire are confidential and the university does not have access to the survey data. The questionnaire was developed by Quantum Workplace, an independent consulting firm. The ND Voice Survey was established in November of 2006 and is available to employees in the fall of each academic year.

ND Voice covers a variety of important topics and it has several questions centered on diversity and equity. Notre Dame uses the results of the survey to assess the diversity and equity culture on campus and specifically for employees working for the university.

Year the assessment was last administered:
2,012

A brief description of how the results of the assessment(s) are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:

The results of this survey are always influential to the university’s initiative to create a more comprehensive diversity strategy. The results will also help the University to identify the areas that will improve the work experience at Notre Dame. The Human Resources Department works to implement initiatives that will support the strategy and improve the campus diversity culture. Such initiatives have included: Learning at Work, Frontline Supervisions, ND Renew and EVP focus group meetings. ND Voice also helped to inform the creation of a campus wide diversity council and a sub-committee on staff diversity.
