Turnip the Beet, the second Concordia Sustainable Food Festival featured local restaurants, farmers, organizations, retailers, grocers, producers and musicians all coming together to celebrate the sustainable food movement that is growing in and around Montreal.

- Sustainability: Rio +20 conference: The conference, held on March 30 and 31, was co-organized by Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability (formerly Loyola International College) and Siena College. Keynote presenters were MP and Green Party leader Elizabeth May and Damon Matthews, associate professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment. Since 2005, both colleges have been hosting joint conferences to explore issues related globalization. - The CSU (Concordia Student Union) Speaker Series: The goal of the CSU Speaker Series is to provide students with diverse and inspiring speakers that have had a profound effect on the world around us. Between September and April the CSU will hold more than four large scale events, each filling to capacity Concordia’s biggest lecture hall, H-110. Previous lecturers include Ralph Nader, Stéphane Dion, Stephen Lewis, David Suzuki, Wangari Maathai, Justin Trudeau, Janette Holman Price, Michael Ignatieff, Lisa Glithero, Sol Guy and Martin Luther King III.
