A brief description of the child care program, policy, or practice:

Two child care programs, consisting of three facilities, serve the University of Virginia. The UVA Child Development center serves all UVA and UVA Health System faculty, staff, and students as well as University-affiliated foundations and contractors. The Malcolm W. Cole Child Care Center serves primarily Medical Center employees but is open to all University and Health System faculty and staff.

The University of Virginia Child Development Center was established in 1991 to serve University faculty, staff, and students. The Center accepts children of University faculty, staff, and students as well as employees of the hospital, University-affiliated foundations and contractors.

The Malcolm W. Cole Child Care Center was established in 1984 to assist in recruiting and retaining a high caliber healthcare team for the University of Virginia Health System. The center is fully licensed and serves children from six weeks to five years of age. Known for its caring staff and exciting programs, the Center is supported by well qualified child care professionals.
