Does the institution have an active student group focused on sustainability?:
A brief description of the student group, including its activities:
There are around 30 student-led organizations that focus on sustainability, and Greek Recycling has been one of the biggest success stories over the last two years. Students have been advocating for years to have fraternities recycle their cups and cans after parties, but it took some dedicated students to step up and make it happen. Once a location was found for where the students could put the dumpster to take the recycling, they finally contracted with a local recycling company and currently raise money through various fundraisers, student appropriations, and the Inter-Fraternity Council. On Sunday mornings they drive around and pick up the bags that the fraternities are told to leave in front of their houses with a large trailer and take them to the recycling dumpster. The group is completely student run with both guys and girls from throughout the greek system.
