Total energy consumption, performance year:
2,083,352.97 MMBtu

Clean and renewable electricity (report kilowatt-hours):
kWh MMBtu
Imported electricity from certified/verified clean and renewable sources (i.e., bundled green power purchases) 202,481,000 Kilowatt-hours 690,865.17 MMBtu
Electricity from on-site, clean and renewable sources (rights retained/retired) 207,885 Kilowatt-hours 709.30 MMBtu

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:

ASU has entered into multiple renewable energy contracts, including the ASU Red Rock Solar Project. Red Rock is a collaboration between ASU and Arizona Public Service. APS agreed to construct and operate roughly 29 MWdc of solar energy generating capacity for ASU at its Red Rock site near Casa Grande, Arizona. In return, ASU agreed to purchase 65,000-megawatt hours of solar energy per year for 20 years.

A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:

Renewable energy on-site consists of 90 systems across ASU's four campuses and Research Park and has a capacity of 24.25 MWdc. The systems are either roof-mounted, ground-mounted, parasols, and on top of parking garages or over parking lots. RECs are sold and repurchased as outlined below.

Clean and renewable thermal energy (report MMBtu):
MMBtu
Clean and renewable stationary fuels used on-site to generate thermal energy 0 MMBtu
Imported steam, hot water, and/or chilled water from certified/verified clean and renewable sources 0 MMBtu

A brief description of the clean and renewable stationary fuels:

None

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable thermal energy:

Solar thermal systems at ASU for domestic hot water are located at Nursing & Healthcare Innovation, Sun Devil Fitness Center Tempe, Health North Downtown, Sun Devil Fitness Complex West and Sun Devil Fitness Complex Polytechnic.

The total MMBtu for solar thermal systems was 5,865.56 MMBtu.

Unbundled renewable energy products (report kWh):
kWh MMBtu
Purchased RECs, GOs, I-RECs or equivalent unbundled renewable energy products certified by a third party 46,311,106 Kilowatt-hours 158,013.49 MMBtu

A brief description of the unbundled renewable energy products:

ASU has purchased Green-e certified RECs from multiple vendors to match its imported electricity use and the on-site solar PV generation that does not retain its RECs. Additional information is available in the file uploaded under "Additional documentation to support the submission." Please note that this file is two separate documents merged into one file.

Total clean and renewable energy generated or purchased:
849,587.97 MMBtu

Percentage of total energy consumption from clean and renewable sources:
40.78
