Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes

Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
100

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

In December 2022, ASU engaged a third party to conduct a survey of employees that addressed both diversity and equity and employee satisfaction. The survey was sent to all employees.

The survey was created through committees of faculty and staff drawn from across the university. The committees reviewed proposed standard questions from the third-party firm and selected questions to address the attitudes, perceptions and behaviors of employees, employee outcomes related to diversity and equity (e.g., pay and retention rates for underrepresented groups) as well as employee job satisfaction, learning and advancement opportunities and work culture and work/life balance.

The survey was sent to all employees. 59% of staff and 46% of faculty completed the survey, which constitutes a representative sample.

Example statements (employees responded on a scale) from the employee satisfaction and engagement portion of the survey sent to staff included:
- In my current role I have the opportunity for growth and development.
- ASU does a good job recognizing staff for their accomplishments
- I understand how my work supports the ASU Charter.
- Following my workday, I often have a feeling of satisfaction about my job.
- My department leader is responsive to input from staff.

Example statements (employees responded on a scale) from the employee satisfaction and engagement portion of the survey sent to faculty included:
- Faculty members are rewarded fairly for contributions.
- I am proud to be associated with ASU.
- My department chair/school director supports me in achieving my academic goals.
- My department/school is committed to helping faculty achieve a healthy work-life balance.
- I understand ASU's vision and strategic imperatives.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
