A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:

The Bike Co-op on the Polytechnic Campus provides bicycles for students, staff, and faculty to check out for no charge. The Bike Co-ops on Tempe, Polytechnic, and Downtown campuses provide reduced-cost tools, parts, and assistance to repair bicycles.

ASU's Health Futures Center provides preferential parking for hybrid vehicles.

Registered carpoolers may park in specially-marked HOV spaces which are typically located on the ground level of a parking structure or close to a parking facility’s entrance.


Does the institution have one or more Level 2 or Level 3 electric vehicle recharging stations that are accessible to student and employee commuters?:
Yes

Arizona State University’s Parking & Transit Services (PTS) has installed a total of over 100 charging spaces across various campus lots and garages.

Yes

A brief description of the incentives or programs to encourage employees to live close to campus:

(1) Employees that are enrolled in classes are eligible to live in houses on the Polytechnic Campus, once all interested students have been accommodated.
(2) The substantial public transportation subsidy provided by the University is an incentive for living closer to its campuses.
(3) The Novus project includes plans for a residential complex adjacent to the Tempe campus that consists of approximately 360 residential units, 10% of which will be designated as Attainable Housing units, with rent restricted to 30% of the area median income (AMI) and available to ASU employees on a priority basis.

Yes

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:

ASU has several programs to support more sustainable modes of transportation:
(1) ASU subsidizes over half of the value of transit passes (Upass and Platinum pass) for students, faculty, and staff to incentivize bus and light rail utilization.
(3) ASU has three bike valets and nine card access bike storage facilities to incentivize bike ridership by helping reduce bike theft.
(4) ASU provides a private shuttle system for students, faculty, and staff which generates over two million boardings per year.
