Eco Footprint was adapted from an existing ecological footprint that is used to help people understand their environmental impact and why it matters. This has been used by university 101 classes and the sustainable carolina leadership program for over 5 years, and is updated often.

The assessment was deployed to all sections of the course through Blackboard at the beginning and end of the semester.

The results are reviewed yearly by an assessment team and considerations are made that effect the operations of the Office of Sustainability. Students also took part in a discussion about their answers and the increase/decrease of their score over the course of the semester.
