The former President of the University, Harris Pastides, signed an open letter saying that he was in support of the Paris Climate Accord. The letter stated that anyone who signed would provide the leadership needed in order to fulfill the United States' role in the agreement. This was done in opposition to President Donald Trump's withdrawal from the agreement.
