Aramark took over food-service operations in July 2017. We have prioritized responsible sourcing and waste minimization throughout our first 2 years as a means to provide more sustainable dining options to the UofSC community. We began sourcing and tracking local and TPV products; we initiated post-consumer compost collection in 7 locations; we implemented tray-less dining and reusable dine-in & to-go options; we began purchasing produce from a local food hub to support small farmers. All of these efforts have been in alignment with the University's sustainable goals. We hope to institutionalize these changes through a Sustainable Dining Policy that is in progress.<< show less

This credit is weighted more heavily for institutions located in areas of water stress and scarcity and less heavily for institutions in areas with relative water abundance. The points available for this credit are determined by the level of ”Physical Risk QUANTITY” for the institution’s main campus,, as indicated by the World Resources Institute’s Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas and detailed in the following table:
