Northeastern University is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences can thrive, have a strong sense of belonging, and achieve academic and professional success.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion works with students, faculty, and staff to identify and address sources of conflict, bias, and possible differential treatment, and provide training, and information on additional campus resources, to create an inclusive environment for all.

Training opportunities include:
• Affirmative action
• Diversity and equity
• Inclusion strategies
• Prevention of discrimination
• Racial Literacy

During the 2021-2022 academic year, Northeastern introduced mandatory racial and cultural literacy training to the full population. The online training comprised four modules with the last being scenario-based to enable learners to understand how to recognize and respond to bias situations that undermine our efforts to be a more inclusive university.
