A brief description of the food donation program:
Gator Dining has partnered with the Campus Kitchens Project - a hunger relief organization that takes unserved food from local food service providers and creates individually-packaged, nutritious meals to be delivered to social service agencies.
The Campus Kitchens at the University of Florida is part of a national organization that provides hunger relief for working poor families. Weekly, the organization picks up unused food from local restaurants, dining halls, catering events and fraternity and sorority houses on campus. The food is then turned into nutritionally balanced meals and delivered throughout the Gainesville community.
