The focal point of the Office of Institutional Equity & Diversity (OIED) is to ensure equitable treatment of all students and employees. OIED networks with all aspects of campus employment in order to work towards a learning and working environment free of discrimination and harassment for current as well as prospective students and employees.

A brief description of the diversity coordinator's position:
-Serve as the chief diversity officer and spokesperson on all matters pertaining to equity, diversity and inclusion.
-Provide equal opportunity and equal access services and programs that affect 22,000 employees and 50,000 students throughout the State of Florida.
-Develop the University’s Affirmative Action Plan, and ensure compliance with federal and state affirmative action and equal opportunity statutes, regulations and guidelines.
-Investigate and resolve all allegations of unlawful discrimination and harassment.
-Chair the President’s Council on Diversity, and serves on a variety of university-wide standing committees including; Persons with Disabilities Committee, Race & Ethnicity Committee, Title IX Intercollegiate Athletics Committee.
-Developed online sexual harassment prevention training, and conduct diversity training workshops.
