A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:

The College has founded the Community Partners for Sustainability in Lake County (CPS). The CPS exists to bring motivated groups and individuals together through formal and informal channels to foster collaborative efforts regarding sustainability in Lake County. The purpose of the CPS is to create a dialogue between multiple stakeholders in order to accelerate sustainability initiatives across the county with the goal of achieving economic, social, and environmental resilience and vitality. The CPS supports a platform for spreading awareness of county sustainability initiatives, networking, and sharing best practices.

The College of Lake County acts as the convening body of this group, serving as the connector between local entities. This includes, but is not limited to municipal offices, educational institutions, workforce and economic development bodies, regional businesses, residents, community groups, and not-for-profit organizations.
