Commute and modal split information is sampled using Stanford’s annual transportation and commute survey, administered from February through the end of March in 2019 to all students. The results of the 2019 annual commute survey are provided with splits broken down my transportation type.
Student classification includes undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral students, including students living both on- and off-campus. Non-matriculated students are not included in this tally.

Commute and modal split information is sampled using Stanford’s annual transportation and commute survey, administered from February through the end of March in 2019 to all academic and non-academic staff. The results of the 2019 annual commute survey are provided with splits broken down my transportation type.
Figures include only commuters to the Stanford campus. Commuters to off-campus worksites are not included.

Contrary to the last population counts submitted by Stanford for this credit in 2019, the student population metrics now additionally include postdoctoral students to better align with the university's other reporting of student population metrics.
