The energy reported is obtained through a Power Purchase Agreement so that Stanford may claim the renewable electricity generated by its first Stanford Solar Generating Station. In addition to the seventeen sites that already had rooftop solar, panels were also added to 15 additional sites on Stanford’s campus in March 2017 with a production capacity of approximately 5 MW. Stanford has committed to a 65% renewable electricity portfolio. The majority of renewable electricity comes from Stanford’s on-campus and off-campus solar installations, as described in the sections above.
