A brief description of the sustainability coordinator’s position:
In an effort to shape the college culture to embrace sustainability, she leads professional development opportunities for staff and faculty; directs initiatives to engage students; coordinates the campus Green Team; oversees the campus community garden involving 30 plus volunteers; and assists the efforts of the faculty release position, Coordinator for Sustainability Teaching and Learning, focused on greening curriculum. Stephenie also manages the Center for Sustainability, a project supported in part by the Illinois Green Economy Network. The Center will continue to support efforts listed above as well as encourage and support further greening of the campus, community outreach and green jobs training. She also sits on several committees within the Chicago-metro south suburban community and state-wide representing the College.
