MVCC Greening Your Curriculum & Prairie Project, engages faculty across disciplines in learning how to apply sustainability concepts to their specific courses. Several professional development courses, offered through Moraine Valley's Learning Academy (specific to faculty prof development) lead faculty through exploration of what is sustainability, how does it apply to their discipline and how to effectively change curricula to address sustainability.


A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

One faculty member has a 3 hour release time position to lead the faculty professional development programs specific to greening curriculum.
Faculty can participate in a 6-week online course, 2, 3-week online courses and then a 20 hour workshop throughout 1 calendar year. Successful participation of all sessions, equal 3 PGUs (equivalent of 1 graduate level course, which leads to lane changes for faculty pay) and monetary stipend.
