A brief summary of the climate plan’s long-term goals:
IIT seeks to make a fully sustainable urban campus where all emissions leaving campus do not exceed, in quantity and potency, that which the ecosystem can handle.

A brief summary of the climate plan’s short-term goals:
By 2020, IIT will reduce carbon emissions by 50% compared to the baseline of fiscal year 2008. Any emissions classified as harmful by the Environmental Protection Agency will either be eliminated or have a quantifiable plan for elimination.
