Does the institution offer housing options to accomodate the special needs of transgender and transitioning students (either as a matter of policy or as standard practice)?:
Yes

A brief description of the program, policy, or practice:

IIT takes great care to accommodate the housing needs of all students on campus. Gender neutral housing is available in Carmen Hall, and a gender neutral pilot housing community is available State Street Village (SSV) during the 2011-2012 school year. IIT understands the needs of transgender and transitioning students. Students can contact Housing & Residential Services staff directly, who works closely with the resident to meet their needs and make them as comfortable as possible within the residence hall communities.
