A brief description of the program or practice:
Landscaping at Humber College is designed to achieve water conservation by selecting perennial plants that, once established, require minimal maintenance and no watering. Three quarters of the planting areas in the parking lots were landscaped using Toronto-area native plants. The college also installed two garden beds that were specifically designed according to xeriscaping techniques.
