All research projects related to sustainability at Humber College examine one or more of the environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainability. All of our sustainability initiatives - including research projects - connect to Humber’s commitment to sustainability stated in our Strategic Plan (2013-2018): “We preserve our collective future by embracing the social, ecological, and economic impact of our decisions.” Sustainability research includes investigation of ways to “meet contemporary needs without compromising the ability of future generations to satisfy their needs” (UN World Commission on Environment and Development, 1987).
