A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:

Sustainability staff has presented to nearly all administrative assistants on campus about recycling and sustainability initiatives on campus and also frequently presents information to the Deans and Directors of Student Life. The Office of Sustainability gives regular talks at campus-wide events like the HR Coffee Series and Faculty Roundtables, which provide concrete steps that offices can take to enhance sustainability on campus and in their personal lives.

Sustainability staff responds to other administrative assistant requests for information about recycling batteries, pens, and other sustainability issues. DePauw does not have any additional formal training and professional development opportunities related to sustainability that are available to all staff.


A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :

DePauw is highly supportive of professional development opportunities for staff. In the past three years, sustainability staff have attended the 2018 AASHE conference in Pittsburgh and presented at the Indiana Small Farm Conference from 2017-2020. The university has also financially supported the former Sustainability Director's Sustainability master's program in Sustainability from Harvard University Extension School.
