All new staff members are introduced to various sustainability initiatives during orientation with Human Resources. The Powerpoint slide contains information on everything from recycling and the Campus Farm, LEED Gold Buildings, and the Green-to-Go program.

The notes from the Human Resources sustainability orientation:
•“Hydration Stations” are positioned around campus because bottled water was banned from campus
•First two LEED Gold buildings in Indiana (Prindle, Ethics and Hoover)
• 12 acre Ullem Farm and Center for Sustainability opened in 2019. Located behind Indoor Track & Tennis Center. Produce from the farm is available in Hoover Dining Hall or available for free during open volunteer hours at the farm.
•DePauw has a healthy recycling program, you'll see many receptacles on campus. DePauw has a mixed recycling stream, so all recyclables go in the same bin!
•Greencastle Famer’s Market – Saturdays on the Square from 8am - noon - Seasonal
•Free community bikes available for rent - Seasonal (contact sustainability@depauw.edu)
•Committed to carbon neutrality by 2040, 2008 signatory of American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (PCC)
•The only option for to-go dining on campus is through the Green-to-Go program. This program is free to participate in and saves over 250,000 disposable boxes from landfill every year. To get your free token, contact sustainability@depauw.edu
