2017 HERI Campus Climate Assessment for Faculty, Students, and Staff. During the 2016‐17 academic year, leaders at Western Washington University (Western) approached the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) about conducting a comprehensive campus climate assessment that included surveys administered to faculty, students, and staff. Staff from HERI worked closely with the Western’s Equal Opportunity Office for this project

The 2017 HERI Campus Climate Assessment for Faculty, Students, and Staff gathered enough data to result in the recognition of the need for a further employee salary and gender equity survey to be conducted. A request for funding to hire a consultant has been submitted the University Planning and Resources Council (UPRC) for consideration. It is hoped that funding will be approved and the survey will be conducted within the next twelve months.
