The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate and coordinating the provision of automated online ride matching and ride sharing services in the members’ jurisdictions. The goal of the COALITION is to provide affordable, convenient and effective ride matching services to increase the mode share of car-pooling/ridesharing from all trips in the service area. The members have formed the COALITION to obtain the most value for each member’s resources, and share costs, expertise and approaches to common challenges to increasing car-pooling/ridesharing. Each member of the COALITION agrees to coordinate efforts and support other members’ programs promoting ride sharing.
The coalition encourages ridesharing throughout the regional service area, providing access to the Zimride ridematching platform for free to members of each of the coalition partners' community. Ridesharing supports economic sustainability by providing cost-effective sustainable transportation support. Ridesharing supports environmental sustainability by reducing the number of vehicles driven, so reducing related greenhouse gas emissions. Ridesharing supports social sustainability by providing access to transportation to all members of the community.

The Solarize Cayuga project is a multi-sector partnership among government, corporate and educational leaders to advance the update of solar energy in the county. The campaign has been ongoing for more than 3 years now, and is into its second round. The Solarize Cayuga steering group issued RFPs to various solar installers who offered competitive rates for installed solar energy systems.
The Solarize Cayuga team included two members of the community representing lower income households (seniors).
The Solarize Cayuga team provided the educational and outreach support for the installers. Increasing solar energy update in our rural county helps in all three sustainability areas: we ensured that at least one installer offered power purchase agreements instead of direct purchase of renewable energy systems, still enabling those unable to purchase/install a system on their home or business (e.g. renters, seniors) access to renewable energy; increasing renewable energy integration reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and had an economic benefit as the competitive rates offered by the solar companies from our RFP process significantly lowered the price for homeowners and small businesses.

Wells College provides office space and internship support for the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network. The college is a member of the network and provides opportunities for students to volunteer for network events and activities in the region. The network primarily works in the area of environmental protection of the watershed regionof Cayuga Lake.
