Coal | 4 |
Geothermal | 0 |
Hydro | 6 |
Natural gas | 52 |
Nuclear | 31 |
Solar photovoltaic | 0.50 |

A brief description of other sources of electricity not specified above:
Renewable biogas - less than 1% (factored into calculations above as 0.5%)
Oil - less than 1% (factored into calculations above as 0.5%)
Solid Waste - 1%
Energy used for heating buildings, by source::
Percentage of total energy used to heat buildings (0-100) | |
Biomass | 0 |
Coal | 0 |
Electricity | 6.08 |
Fuel oil | 3.25 |
Geothermal | 0 |
Natural gas | 0 |
Other (please specify and explain below) | 90.67 |
A brief description of other sources of building heating not specified above:
We do not have access to natural gas lines, so we utilize propane to replace fuel oil in most buildings; #2 fuel oil is used as a backup fuel to propane. Two buildings have electric heating (Long Library 47,900sf; Dodge Hall 53,400sf) which together comprise 17.5% of the total campus square footage (577,757sf).
Percentage of total energy consumption from clean and renewable sources:
