In future, construction and renovation contracts will include language related to C&D waste reduction and will require such project waste to be the responsibility of the contractor, not the College.

In past years, summer C&D included mattresses, excess room furniture and other miscellaneous waste items. We are still working to develop diversion mechanisms for (mattress recycling but much furniture has been donated to FingerLakes Reuse.

Please note that we do not capture actual weights for the items donated to Finger Lakes ReUse, so this is very conservatively estimated based upon the volume of materials reportedly sent by our Facilities group.
