The Campus Sustainability Plan calls for wide-ranging, coordinated efforts to promote sustainability across all operations and functions at UW Oshkosh. It also calls for an organizational structure to ensure that substantial progress is made and communicated to the larger community and the outside world.

The Campus Sustainability Council, which consists of representatives from across campus, oversees and helps coordinate this effort.

The council shall report to both the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services. The council shall assist and provide direction to the Campus Sustainability Director. It also may take leadership in special issues (such as the curriculum), and advise campus leaders on sustainability initiatives.

The council makes recommendations to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services on:

- priorities for sustainability plan goals
- soundness of an annual plan and budget drawn up by the Campus Sustainability Director
- campus-wide sustainability procedures and policies
- sustainability in the curriculum
- educational events on campus
- membership in off-campus sustainability organizations or initiatives
- performance of the director.

A brief description of each sustainability office:

The Sustainability Office is currently located at the Administrative Services Office, Room 236. This location provides the Director’s Office, storage space for materials, access to Administrators, records, shared office space for interns, and access to conference rooms. Reception, clerical, and purchasing assistance is provided by Administrative Services. We have also just created a sustainability database to be used by staff, students, and faculty.

The Director's responsibility is four-fold, bringing leadership to campus sustainability in operations, teaching, outreach and research. The Director reports to the Provost/Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs and to the Vice-Chancellor for Administrative Services.
