The campus maintains signs that highlight rainwater use for irrigation and in bathrooms, native plantings, student and staff gardens (Student Garden, Staff Community Garden, Pollinator Garden) recycling options, re-use collections ("Weird Recycling Stations"), litter clean up ("Adopt-a-Spot"), low flow water fixtures, light switch reminders ("Please Turn Me Off"), and paper towel conservation ("These Come From Trees"). We also place signs on many projects funded by the student Green Fund ("Charlotte Green initiative") including water bottle fillers, bicycle racks, skateboard racks, bikeshare stations, hammocks, etc.

A brief description of the sustainability walking map or tour:

The Office of Sustainability coordinates campus tours for classes, workshops and off-campus groups. They often focus on a theme, such as multimodal transportation systems, waste systems, or stormwater systems and the Toby Creek restoration. For faculty workshops, we have a tour focusing on Campus as a Laboratory. We also provide a tour for students that is based on projects funded by the Charlotte Green Initiative, our student green fund.
