CDS, Aramark, and students, who work with faculty advisers and receive academic credit, analyze invoices and vendor reports to track and evaluate food and beverage purchases made for campus dining halls. Real Food Calculator criteria are employed to determine sustainably and ethically sourced food. Reports are tracked throughout the year.

A brief description of the institution’s sustainable food and beverage purchasing program:
Students, under the guidance of faculty, Carolina Dining Services, and Aramark, completed Real Food Challenge reports for September 2018 and February 2019. Aramark tracks food purchases for the entire year, but only breaks them down by vendor, not product. The Real Food Challenge website has not been updated to reflect these reports. The student reports are attached below.
