A brief description of the policy:

- Drivers of University Facilities vehicles immediately upon reacing their destination if the vehicle is going to be in one place for more than one minute (except when idling in traffic).
-Drivers will not allow vehicles to idle outside of shops or buildings at any time to "warm-up".
-Exceptions can be made in the case of vehicles that need to be run in order to operate auxiliary equipment or in the case of severe weather (i.e. heavy ice build-up, extreme cold). In this case, idling should be limited to 5-10 minutes, enough time to bring the vehicle up to operating temperature.
