A brief description of the assessment(s):

SUNY University at Buffalo has been nominated as a Great College to Work For through the Chronicle of Higher Education's Great Colleges program, which is administered by Modern Think. As a part of this process, a detailed workforce profile and employee survey must be completed (as provided by Modern Think). The employee survey is sent to 600 randomly selected employees that meet the criteria set forth by Modern Think. The criteria are that the employees be full-time and only faculty, exempt staff and administrators are eligible. The 600 selects are proportional to the total number in each category.
We are currently working on this year’s submission. The survey is not strictly about diversity and equity but does include those elements as the survey seeks to measure the overall work culture. Programs and services stemming from this transformation and employee comments from the surveys we have completed have led to the development of new wellness and work life balance programs, an expanded Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and our organizational development and training initiatives.
