Tennessee Tech is also a member of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation's Higher Education Institutions Sustainability Network (TN HEI SN). This statewide network brings a variety of perspectives together, creates a collaborative platform to work through common challenges and key issues, and builds mutual ownership in the development of a stronger foundation for sustainability education and practices throughout the State of Tennessee. The Campus Sustainability Manager is a part of this steering committee.

Tennessee Tech University is a part of the Higher Education Sustainability Network. Tennessee's Higher Education Sustainability Initiative serves to provide a network for faculty, administrators, staff, students, and organizations who interact with Tennessee's higher education institutions to come together to collaborate, support, share, and advise on sustainability best practices.

A brief description of other inter-campus collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year :

TN Tech partners with Tennessee Valley Authority, Cookeville Electric, and other groups for their Earth Day Celebration and Sustainability Month each year. TN Tech students and faculty participate by presenting research projects related to sustainability and speaking on current research.

Additionally, the TDEC's Higher Education Institution's Sustainability Network is designed to connect schools so that we can collaborate, support, share, and advise on best practices for incorporating sustainability into Tennessee higher education institutions (TN HEIs).
