East campus is tied in to City of Modesto stormwater drains. West campus is not. Instead, West campus has a retention pond where stormwater drains. The Ag. Division uses the stormwater as secondary irrigation to irrigate the small animal pasture adjacent to the pond. Otherwise, the water infiltrates to recharge aquifer or evaporates.
