STUDENTS
Students participate in shared governance through a student council and committees as part of Undergraduate Student Government (UGSG). UGSG at Mines is the recognized organization that delivers the voice of the student body to Faculty, Administrators, and the Board of Trustees. Student Government represents students on a variety of campus committees. Mines has a similar governing body for graduate students – Graduate Student Government. The websites are listed below. ACADEMIC STAFF
The Mines Faculty Senate (https://www.mines.edu/faculty-senate) is the representative body for faculty (tenured and non-tenured), research faculty and others. Members may be nominated or nominate themselves as candidates and then are elected into office. NON-ACADEMIC STAFF
Non-academic staff are represented through our Administrative Faculty Council, which represents employees whose duties are administrative in nature such as managers, accountants, secretaries, etc. The AFC serves as the representative body of the Administrative Faculty and actively participates in policy matters that affect their interests. AFC serves as an advisory body to the Mines Administration, provides information and advice to its constituents, and acts as a liaison to the Faculty Senate and Association of Classified Employees. https://afc.mines.edu/

The Association of Classified Employees (ACE), an officially recognized organization for classified employees at Mines such as maintenance and construction workers. https://ace.mines.edu/

A brief description of the campus-community council or equivalent body that gives external stakeholders a regular voice in institutional decisions that affect them:

The City Council for the City of Golden and Mines have an IGA (Intergovernmental Agreement) that allows the city to have a voice concerning the campus and it's impact on the surrounding community, especially future construction projects and land use. The IGA allows for public hearings and feedback to Mines Administrators. All new projects that affect the community involve a neighborhood meetings hosted by Mines where the community is able ask questions, provide input, and raise any concerns. In addition, the Associate VP of Operations and Infrastructure regularly presents Mines activities at the City of Golden's community council meetings.
