This credit was marked as Not Applicable for the
following reason:
Source: Joseph (Jay) Cortellini, Assistant Director, IRB/IACUC, BC Office for Research Protections
I know we don't qualify for this credit but I wanted you to know why we will not change our policy from the Fed. standard. We're concerned that, by tweaking our policy to satisfy the reviewer's expectation, which represents a higher bar than that set by the federal regulations that govern the protection of laboratory animals, we might unintentionally disqualify BC from accepting research opportunities that otherwise might be available. For that reason, we decline to modify our current institutional policy.
