A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Since 1985, the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship has been helping organizations align corporate citizenship objectives and business goals to create a more sustainable and prosperous future for all. Based under the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship is a membership-supported organization dedicated to advancing the field of corporate citizenship. We combine the most valuable aspects of a professional network and the resources of a leading academic institution for 500+ member companies each year. We provide research, executive education, expert insights and tools, and networking opportunities to support our members development as industry leaders and enable them to achieve greater business and social value.

From in-depth case studies of leading CSR efforts to summaries of the latest news and regulations, the Center offers members the information necessary to help drive progress in their businesses and communities.

Environmental sustainability is increasing attention to global environmental concerns, providing the incentive for businesses to assess their impacts.

About 450 of the Center's members have completed sustainability reports using the format recommended on our website. Sustainability reporting is the disclosure and communication of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals—as well as a company’s progress towards them.

In addition, the Center sponsors an annual Sustainability Conference. Last year it was held virtually for 800 attendees and in 2022 it will be both in-person and virtual.

Executive Education offerings include webinars and certificate courses. Environmental Sustainability 101 is a webinar course. About 250 members participated in the self-paced courses.
