A brief description of the methodology/tool used to calculate the percentile local or regional rainfall events for which the institution manages runoff on-site using LID practices and green infrastructure:

There are two predominate software programs/modeling tools that Yale uses to manage stormwater: “HydroCAD” and “Hydroflow Hydrographs”. We have recently transitioned to using HydroCAD. Based on our LEED filing for the Peabody Museum the 95th percentile storm event on an annual basis is 0.65 inches. The New Haven Zoning regulations require the rainfall from the first 1.00 inches of rain from a storm be infiltrated (if the project is in an area of combined sewer that value more than doubles). Any Yale project that has been designed/permitted since 2015 would meet the 1.00 inch requirement and exceed the 95th percentile.
