A brief description of the institution’s green event certification program:

Green Event Certification encourages, recognizes and celebrates the voluntary sustainable efforts that event organizers take to reduce the environmental, social and financial costs of their event. It also creates an opportunity to inform and engage event attendees in sustainable practices. Most recently, Yale's New Employee Orientation was certified as a green event in May 2022 at the silver level for fulfilling the following credits:

Event uses only electronic communications for registration, announcements, updates and/or reminders
Promotes event electronically using social media, press releases, emails, and/or tabling.
Event communicates sustainability initiatives to participants (e.g. announcing the event is green certified, announcing waste disposal processes, etc.).
